StratQuad Terms of Service

These terms of service govern your use of StratQuad, an External Attack Surface Management platform operated at stratquad.co.uk and app.stratquad.co.uk. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. About StratQuad

StratQuad is a cyber security platform that helps you understand the external security posture of internet facing assets. The platform combines open source intelligence analysis, active scanning, and framework alignment tooling in a single product.

StratQuad is operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom. References to "we", "us", and "our" in these terms refer to StratQuad. References to "you" and "your" refer to the user of the platform.

2. Accounts

To use the platform beyond the public landing page, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information.
• Keeping your password secure and not sharing it with others.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access at [email protected].

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

3. Authorisation to scan

This section is the most important clause in these terms. Read it carefully.

You must only submit domains, URLs, IP addresses, or any other identifiers to StratQuad that you own, or that you have explicit written authorisation to scan from the lawful owner.

Submitting assets you do not own or are not authorised to scan may be a breach of:

• The Computer Misuse Act 1990 in the United Kingdom.
• Equivalent computer misuse and unauthorised access legislation in your jurisdiction.
• The terms of service of the target organisation.
• These terms of service.

You indemnify StratQuad and hold us harmless against any claims, losses, damages, costs, or liabilities arising from your submission of assets without proper authorisation.

We may at our discretion require evidence of authorisation before running a scan. We may suspend or terminate accounts that submit unauthorised scan targets. We may cooperate with law enforcement where a credible allegation of computer misuse is made.

If you are unsure whether you have authorisation to scan a particular asset, do not scan it. Obtain written permission from the asset owner first.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform to harm, disrupt, or degrade any system, network, or service.
• Submit malware, exploits, or other harmful content.
• Attempt to circumvent access controls, rate limits, or tier restrictions on the platform.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the platform or its output without our written agreement.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Submit data that infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.

5. Service tiers and billing

The platform is offered in tiers (Base, Enhanced, and Enterprise). Feature availability varies by tier. Billing arrangements, where applicable, are set out in the sign up flow or communicated separately for Enterprise customers.

For the Base tier, the platform is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce charges, change pricing, or limit free usage at any time with reasonable notice.

For paid tiers, subscription fees are charged in advance. Refunds are not offered for partial periods unless required by law. You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

6. Service availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Planned maintenance will be notified in advance where possible. Unplanned outages may occur. We do not offer a formal service level agreement at Base or Enhanced tiers. Enterprise customers may negotiate an SLA as part of their contract.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, including all source code, design, copy, and brand elements, is the intellectual property of StratQuad. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the platform.

Scan data you submit, and the results generated from that data, belong to you. We process that data on your behalf to provide the service. You grant us a limited, non exclusive licence to process your data for the purpose of providing the platform.

Aggregated and anonymised data about platform usage (which does not identify you or your scan targets) may be used by us to improve the platform and for internal analysis.

8. Third party data sources

The platform integrates with third party intelligence sources including Shodan, Have I Been Pwned, Hudson Rock Cavalier, certificate transparency logs, and others. Use of these sources is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third party data.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under English law.

You acknowledge that security scanning results are advisory. You are responsible for validating findings, remediating identified issues, and making informed decisions about your security posture. StratQuad does not replace a qualified security professional.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StratQuad, its operators, and any associated parties from any claims, losses, damages, costs, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your breach of these terms.
• Your submission of scan targets without proper authorisation.
• Your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
• Your use of the platform.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these terms, suspected unauthorised scanning activity, non payment of fees, or if required by law. In most cases we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach, except where immediate suspension is necessary to protect the platform, other users, or third parties.

You may terminate your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. On termination, your scan data will be retained according to the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy and then deleted.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, you may terminate your account before it takes effect.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the platform is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Entire agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StratQuad regarding your use of the platform. Any prior agreements, representations, or understandings are superseded.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
